– President named San Diego Business Journal’s Exemplary Award recipient at Most Admired CEO event –

SAN DIEGO – December 9, 2011 – Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive, a strategic partner dedicated to ensuring businesses engage their customers wherever they are, received the Exemplary Award at the San Diego Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO event.

Carr was honored for his far-reaching accomplishments, commitment to attracting and retaining good people and for being a savvy, forward thinker who willingly gives his time to help other entrepreneurs.

“I’m extremely humbled by this award and it goes without saying that our team is a big reason why Red Door has been so successful. One of our top priorities has always been to maintain a 100 percent jerk-free policy and provide a positive work environment for our staff,” said Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive. “In addition, it’s important to promote team work and unique solutions. That’s a big reason why we’ve been so successful at attaining positive results for our clients.”

According to the San Diego Business Journal, Carr received the Exemplary Award for his exceptional contribution to the company and the community. This year would have marked his third year in a row as a high scoring finalist, which no other CEO in San Diego has achieved. Carr is an active member of the United Way San Diego and Voice of San Diego where he is on the Board of Directors and chairs the marketing committee. In addition, he is also an active member of the San Diego Rotary Club, serving on the organization’s Technology Committee, and the Marketing SIG co-chair for San Diego CommNexus.

“Being involved in community and business-related organizations is so important and that’s why I’ve always placed great importance on giving back as much as I can,” said Carr. “Whether that means being involved on the board of directors or on a committee, it’s important for entrepreneurs to help one another.”

In addition, Carr was recently named among iMedia’s Top 10 Hottest Digital Marketers for his eye-catching work and the agency was named to their “25 West Coast Agencies to Watch” list this year. The San Diego Business Journal also recognized the agency as one of the area’s “Best Places to Work” and “Fastest-growing Private Companies.”

This presents an exciting opportunity because employees are incentivized to find colleagues with whom they’re going to work shoulder-to-shoulder each day.”

“We’re honored to receive this award because it’s one that recognizes our future and the people who are going to do great things for our clients and for us,” said Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive. “I’d like to say thank you to SHRM for honoring our workplace expertise, vision and impact. People truly are our most important resource.”

Red Door Interactive, a strategic partner dedicated to ensuring businesses engage their customers wherever they are, won a Silver MarketingSherpa Email Marketing Award for “Best Email Growth List Campaign” for Garden Fresh Restaurant Corporation, parent company to Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants.

The agency was recognized for working with Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes on creating this acquisition campaign that incentivized existing loyal customers to refer their friends through email, social media and in-store outreach, resulting in nearly 78,000 new subscribers.

“The overall goal was to acquire new email contacts for Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes. While our focus was on the refer-a-friend contest, we also incorporated digital and in-store tactics to help accomplish this,” said Pilar Bower, Senior Email Marketing Strategist at Red Door Interactive. “Some of our digital strategies included optimizing the website, adding a signup field on the mobile site and promoting the initiative through social media channels. We’re honored to receive this award!”

The campaign showed a true coordination between digital and operational efforts and Red Door was able to double the restaurants average monthly subscribers. The campaign resulted in new sign-ups from the following sources:

Nearly 45,000 from the website

More than 12,600 from refer-a-friend emails

More than 13,550 from in-store promotions

Nearly 3,800 from Mobile and SMS

“We liked this campaign for its focus on encouraging customers to assist in growing the company’s future. It can be easy for companies to forget their loyal customers when looking to attract new prospects. The fact management had enough confidence in the brand’s value to believe clients would refer friends, and the fact management wanted to reward those clients speaks volumes on how Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes values its customers,” said Lead Judge, W. Jeffrey Rich, Senior Research Analyst at MECLABS Primary Research.

iMedia

iMedia set out to find examples of marketers who embody the traits of success – inside and out — in the digital age. We determined that intelligence, creativity, open mindedness, and perseverance are the qualities that make for a truly “hot” marketer. Not surprisingly, in our quest for the hottest digital marketers, we found a lot of folks who boast all of the aforementioned characteristics. It was a tough decision, but we’ve put together a list of 10 individuals based on their professional accomplishments as well as their individual sense of style and confidence.

Reid Carr, President and CEO, Red Door Interactive
Reid Carr’s eye-catching work as the president and CEO of Red Door Interactive has landed him many awards: He was honored with two separate 40 Under 40 awards from both the San Diego Metropolitan and the New Leaders Council, he was named Most Admired CEO three times by the San Diego Business Journal, and in 2009, he was a finalist in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year program.

Under Carr’s direction, Red Door Interactive has won numerous Webbys, Addys, and (as Carr puts it) other awards that end in “y.” The company was named one of the best places to work in media and marketing by Advertising Age magazine, one of the best places to work in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal, and a top small company workplace by Inc. magazine.

Indeed, Red Door Interactive seems like the place to work, having received both the Crystal and Marble Awards of Excellence by the San Diego Society for HR Management. Perhaps this is due, in part, to the fact that Carr is no stranger to the industry; prior to founding Red Door Interactive in 2002, Carr worked for the McQuerter Group, PBJ Digital, and TBWA/Chiat/Day.

- Agency recognized for work with Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, ESET; campaign for fast casual restaurant chain scored highest of all awards entered -

SAN DIEGO – July 6, 2011 – Red Door Interactive, a premier Internet Presence Management firm, recently received three American Marketing Association San Diego “AMY’s” for its work on behalf of Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill and ESET.

The agency garnered the Advertising, Critics Choice and Mobile Advertising award categories, with its campaign for the fast casual restaurant chain scoring the highest of all awards entered this year.

“These initiatives, like all efforts we conduct for our valued clients, are done with one overarching goal – to ensure that companies profit from them,” said Reid Carr, President of Red Door Interactive. “We’re honored by this recognition for what it means about our commitment to doing just that.”

Rubio’s wanted a dynamic social media marketing campaign that showcased its partnership with Dr Pepper, promoted its seasonal offerings, encouraged interaction with the Brand and ultimately drove diners into Rubio’s restaurants. Red Door created a flash-based “Winning Combo Jackpot” game that integrated photos of Rubio’s products, the Dr Pepper logo and other brand logos into the game’s functionality by repurposing them as slot machine icons. Users had a chance to win several prizes, including Rubio’s gift cards and Dr Pepper gear, with everyone earning at the minimum a coupon for a free Dr Pepper. Traffic to the game’s landing page on Rubios.com made up over half of global page views during the campaign, with nearly 450,000 total visits to the game’s main sign-in page over the course of the campaign. Additionally, more than 38,800 new email sign-ups were generated in just three weeks.

In ESET’s case, the Internet security provider had aggressive plans to run an integrated brand awareness campaign during the interactive portion of South by Southwest (SXSW) last year. The annual conference has become a paradise for the tech savvy, but making an impact at one of the most promotion-saturated events can be difficult. Red Door devised a QR code mobile scavenger hunt in which participants could use their mobile devices to locate and decipher simple, but engaging clues. These clues were designed to drive foot traffic through ESET’s immersion campaign installations at SXSW and provide concentrated exposure to the brand. More than one thousand participants either read the barcode using a mobile app, or simply received their next clue in a text message after sending the clue keyword to an SMS short code. Through the use of QR codes, the agency achieved the campaign goals of active engagement across multiple locations, product trials and lead generation.

SAN DIEGO – June 16, 2011 – Red Door Interactive, a premier strategic Internet Presence Management firm, announced today that it won the San Diego Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” award in the medium employer category.

To be eligible, the agency completed a questionnaire that captured information pertaining to company policies, practices, benefits and demographics while employees were surveyed on various issues, including engagement and satisfaction.

“This was our first year competing in the medium employer category and it speaks volumes that as we continue to grow and open new offices, the level of employee satisfaction in areas such as leadership, work environment, communication, training and development remains significantly high,” said Reid Carr, president of Red Door Interactive. “Our phenomenal team works hard day-in and day-out to provide measurable business value for our clients and this award illustrates that the company is focused on the people who deliver on that promise.”

While Red Door Interactive scored high in many areas, the company is well-known for providing employees with unique benefits that include:

A choice of urban, beach or mountain office settings, including Red Door headquarters located in DiamondView Tower overlooking Petco Park.

The lack of office doors in the company’s workplace – including the CEO’s area – to support an open and collaborative environment.

A “100 percent jerk-free environment” policy to cultivate an atmosphere of respect and trust.

Flexible work schedules and telecommuting.

Focus on training and development, including peer-to-peer workshops, tuition reimbursement, and attendance and speaking opportunities at industry conferences and seminars.

Competitive health, vacation and retirement benefits.

Annual ranking showcases the 100 fastest-growing inner city businesses in America.

SAN DIEGO, CA – The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and Fortune Magazine released the 2011 Inner City 100 list of the fastest-growing inner city companies in the U.S. Red Door Interactive from San Diego ranked 39th on this year’s list. The Inner City 100 program recognizes successful inner city companies and their CEO’s as role models for entrepreneurship, innovative business practices and job creation in America’s urban communities. The full list can be viewed at www.fortune.com/innercity100.

The rankings for each company were announced at the Inner City 100 Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Boston, MA. Winners attended a two-day event featuring seminars for Inner City 100 owners and managers at Harvard Business School, a procurement symposium and an awards gala that drew more than 500 guests.

The Inner City 100 list provides unmatched original data on the fastest growing inner-city businesses in the U.S. In the last 13 years, 661 different companies have earned positions on the Inner City 100, collectively generating more than $2.2 billion in annual revenues and creating nearly 70,000 new jobs. Chevron Corporation, Staples Foundation and Goldman Sachs are long-time sponsors of the program.

For the 2011 list, a record number of two thousand nominations were received. Winners represent a wide span of geography, operating in 51 cities and 32 states. The 2011 Inner City 100 winners grew at a compound annual growth rate of 39 percent and an average standard growth rate of 379 percent between 2004 and 2009. Collectively, the top 100 inner city businesses employ 6,720 employees and have created more than 3,227 new jobs between 2005 and 2009.

“We are delighted to celebrate businesses like Red Door Interactive that are playing a critical role in revitalizing America’s urban communities. Through their achievements, the Inner City 100 winning companies exemplify America’s remarkable potential and the future of our urban centers,” Mary Kay Leonard, ICIC president and CEO. “These extraordinary companies demonstrate the market possibilities that exist within our inner cities and the growth that is at the heart of all urban entrepreneurial successes.”
Individually, the average Inner City 100 Company’s revenues were $11.4 million and have, on average, 12 years of experience since founding. This year’s winners have a median employee turnover rate of less than 12 percent (compared to 36 percent for the national average) and 96 percent of them provide health insurance to their workers.

Notes:
To qualify for the Inner City 100 list, companies were required to have at least 51 percent of their operations located in an economically distressed urban area; have at least 10 full-time employees; and a five-year operating sales history that includes at least $200,000 in revenues in the first year of consideration, an increase in year five sales over year four sales, and fifth-year sales of at least $1 million. For the 2011 list, ICIC looked at total revenue growth from 2005 to 2009 and the specific rankings were based on these growth rates. An economically distressed urban area is defined by ICIC as having a 50 percent higher unemployment level, 50 percent higher poverty level, and 50 percent lower median income than the metropolitan statistical area.
