What You’ll Need

Required technical skills:
-      Expert in PHP
-      Expertise with relational database platforms
-      Expertise with multi-tier application architectures and object-oriented design and development
-      Ability to translate business requirements to technical specifications
-      Experience with API integration, E-Commerce, Content Management Systems (CMS), and other marketing technologies
-      Experience with optimizing websites for high traffic
-      Experience with W3C standards, software testing, and Web security
-      Web Server and Linux administration a plus

Education and experience:
-      Minimum of 5 years software development with role as Technical Lead
-      Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience
-      Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills
-      Interactive Agency experience preferred

Ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of agency experience and/or experience in supporting and/or managing a complex internet presence for an established company. Candidate should effectively communicate about and delegate client work among internal teams, provide excellent customer service, possess knowledge of fundamentals of marketing, advertising and basic financial metrics. An undergraduate degree is required.

Project Coordinator
Ideal candidate would have 1+ years of experience in being responsible for communicating project status as it pertains to work & budget among internal teams, assisting project managers, and providing support to project management initiatives. Candidate should possess knowledge of project management fundamentals, meeting preparation, timesheet principles, and budget tracking. An undergraduate degree is required.

Red Door is excited to announce that we are hiring a Business Coordinator.  The Business Coordinator is responsible for assisting with day-to-day internet presence management activities for our clients. This person is a member of the Business Services team and will support on multiple accounts in our collaborative, fast-paced environment.

To get a better sense on what a “day in the life” of a Red Door Business Coordinator is like, I sat down with current  Coordinators  Kelly Donaldson and Justine Stein (pictured above with Red Door President Reid Carr), to learn a bit more about the position. Both are recent San Diego State graduates,  Kelly in 2007 with a degree in Business Marketing and Justine in 2008 with a degree in Communication (emphasis in Advertising).

“With over 15 clients, I have to be extremely organized and able to switch my focus quickly,” explained Kelly. “That said, I love the opportunity this position provides to engage directly with clients to execute daily tasks.”

Justine shared that the importance of strong communication skills, both over the phone and especially via email. “I think you need to be extremely confident and outgoing, our job is make our clients happy and you need to know when enough emails have gone through and its time to pick up the phone,” she said.

Both women cited the need to build strong relationships, take initiative and be able to make decisions and trouble-shoot independently. “You do get guidance in the beginning,” said Justine, “but at a certain point it’s really up to you to manage your workload and stay on top of everything.”

“Even though things can get busy and a bit crazy,” explains Justine, “Red Door is such an awesome company with such great people that it’s probably one of the best entry-level positions in the interactive space out there.”

Adds Kelly, “there is always something new to learn, which keeps things exciting.”

The ideal candidate has a proven a passion for the Web and exemplary customer service. An undergraduate degree and proficiency in MS Office are required. Candidates need to be able to juggle multiple tasks, pay close attention to detail, and communicate effectively and professionally.
